XXX. Vos flores rosarum (De martiribus)
Fragrant Roses of Martyrdom
The martyrs are celebrated as fragrant roses who poured out their blood in imitation of Christ, becoming instruments of the church despite having no earthly foundation in him.
Response: You are the roses' flowers — blessed in the pouring out of your blood, fragrant and dripping with the greatest joys in the redemption that flowed from the innermost mind of the abiding counsel before all ages. In him in whom there was no foundation from the head. Verse: Let there be honor in your fellowship, for you are the instrument of the church and you flood the wounds of your blood. In him in whom there was no foundation from the head.

In illo, in quo non erat constitutio a capite. Versus: Sit honor in consortio vestro, qui estis instrumentum ecclesie et qui in vulneribus vestri sanguinis undatis. In illo, in quo non erat constitutio a capite.
