Methods of Heavenly Intercession
The author outlines two primary methods for seeking the aid of the saints and angels through prayer and contemplation of their virtues.
To help you with the aid and favor of the angels and the saints in heaven, you can follow two methods. First. Turn to the eternal Father and offer Him all the love and praise He receives from the entire heavenly court, as well as the work and suffering the saints on earth have endured for His love; then, because of all these things, ask His divine Majesty for everything you need. First. Turn to the glorious spirits as to those who not only long for our perfection but also fervently desire that we be placed on a throne higher than theirs; and beseech them to bring you help against all your vices and all your adversaries, and to protect you in the hour of death. Sometimes you'll find yourself considering the many unique graces they've received from the supreme Creator, stirring within you a lively sense of love and joy toward them, as they are rich in so many gifts, just as if they were your own. In fact, you'll rejoice, if possible, that such gifts are more abundant among the glorious spirits than with you, since this was God's will; may He therefore be praised and thanked.
A Weekly Rule of Devotion
A structured weekly schedule is provided to help the faithful organize their devotions to different ranks of the blessed.
To carry out this exercise in an orderly and easy way, you can divide the ranks of the blessed by the days of the week like this. On Sunday, you'll take the nine angelic choirs. Monday: Saint John the Baptist. On Tuesday: the patriarchs and the prophets. Wednesday: the apostles. Thursday: the martyrs. On Fridays: the pontiffs along with the other saints. On Saturday: the virgins and the other saints.
The Special Role of Saint Joseph
The chapter concludes by emphasizing daily devotion to the Virgin Mary and the powerful intercession of Saint Joseph.
But never fail to turn to the Virgin Mary, Queen of all saints, your guardian angel, Saint Michael the Archangel, and all your holy advocates each day. Every day, pray to the Virgin Mary, her Son, and the heavenly Father, that they grant you the great grace of having Saint Joseph, the spouse of the Virgin, as your primary advocate and protector; then turn to him and confidently ask him to take you under his protection. Many things are said about this glorious saint and many favors have been received from him by all who have had devotion to him and have turned to him not only in spiritual needs but also in temporal ones, especially in forming pious people to pray and meditate well. If God holds other saints in such high regard because they rendered him obedience and honor while living among us, how much more should we believe that the prayers of this most humble and blessed saint are esteemed by God and hold value before him! He was so honored on earth by God himself that he chose to submit to him and to obey and serve him as a father. Luke 2:5.

Per servirti in questo dell'aiuto e del favore degli angeli e dei santi del cielo, potrai seguire due metodi.
Primo. Rivolgiti all'eterno Padre e presentagli sia l'amore e le lodi con cui è esaltato da tutta la corte celeste, sia le fatiche e le pene sofferte dai santi sulla terra per suo amore; e a causa di tutte queste cose, chiedi alla sua divina Maestà tutto ciò di cui hai bisogno.
Secondo. Ricorri agli spiriti gloriosi come a coloro che non solo bramano la nostra perfezione, ma desiderano vivamente che noi siamo collocati anche su di un trono più alto del loro; e supplicali perché ti portino aiuto contro tutti i tuoi vizi e contro tutti i tuoi avversari e ti proteggano nell'ora della morte.
Alcune volte ti metterai a considerare le molte singolari grazie che hanno ricevute dal sommo Creatore, eccitando in te un vivo sentimento di amore e di gioia verso di loro in quanto sono ricchi di tanti doni, come se fossero tuoi. Anzi ti rallegrerai, se è possibile, che tali doni li abbiano più gli spiriti gloriosi che non tu, poiché questa fu la volontà di Dio: ne sia perciò egli lodato e ringraziato.
Per fare questo esercizio con ordine e facilità, potrai dividere le schiere dei beati secondo i giorni della settimana in questa maniera.
La domenica prenderai i nove cori angelici.
Il lunedì: san Giovanni Battista.
Il martedì: i patriarchi e i profeti.
Il mercoledì: gli apostoli.
Il giovedì: i martiri.
Il venerdì: i pontefici con gli altri santi.
Il sabato: le vergini con le altre sante.
Ma non lasciare mai in ciascun giorno di ricorrere spesso a Maria Vergine, regina di tutti i santi, al tuo angelo custode, a san Michele arcangelo e a tutti i tuoi santi avvocati.
E ogni giorno prega Maria Vergine, il Figliuolo suo, il Padre celeste che ti facciano la grande grazia di darti per principale avvocato e protettore san Giuseppe, sposo della stessa Vergine; rivolta poi al medesimo santo, pregalo fiduciosamente di riceverti sotto la sua protezione.
Si narrano molte cose di questo glorioso santo e molti favori che da lui hanno ricevuto tutti quelli che hanno avuto devozione per lui e a lui sono ricorsi non solamente nei bisogni spirituali ma anche temporali, e specialmente nel formare le persone pie a ben pregare e meditare. Se Dio tiene tanto conto degli altri santi perché vivendo fra noi gli resero obbedienza e onore, quanto dobbiamo credere che da Dio sia stimato e presso Dio abbiano valore le preghiere di questo umilissimo e beatissimo santo! Egli fu talmente onorato in terra dallo stesso Dio, che volle sottomettersi a lui e come a padre obbedirgli e servirlo (cfr. Lc 2,5 1).
