XXVI. Qiiod Deus per miracula ad poenitentiam hortaiur

Therefore, the aforementioned man who designates God urges those who truly have listening ears and understanding hearts to repent of their sins, as you hear, because he warns that they should cast away their unjust deeds and hasten to Him, as He clearly reveals Himself to them through many miracles. But those who ignore his words of admonition will harshly endure his punishments, because they despise the judge who warns and corrects them through the stubbornness of their own wickedness. Therefore, let him bring bitterness upon his body through repentance, who desires to be faithful in the house of God.

Quapropter et praefatus vir qui Deum designat, illos qui vere audientes aures et vere intelligentia corda habent, ut poenitentiam de peccatis suis agant, quemadmodum audis, monet, quia ut injusta opera sua abjiciant, et ut ad ipsum festinanter currant, se ipsis per multa miracula cleraenter manifestat.

Hos autem qui verba admonitionis ejus negligunt, flagella ipsius acriter purgabunt, quoniam admonentem et corripientem judicem per contumaciam teraeritatis suae contemnunt.

Unde amaritudinem corpori suo per poenitentiam inferat, qui in domo Dei fidelis esse desiderat.
