Therefore, those who toil over earthly cares, if their spirit wishes to overcome those urging them toward it, and to avoid the aforementioned penalties, should discipline themselves with fasting and scourging, according to the command of their presiding master, and direct their hearts toward heavenly things.

Quapropter homines qui curae terrenorum insudant, si spiritus ad iliam eos exhortantes voluerint superare, et praefatas poenas devitare, jejuniis et flagellis, secundum jussionem sibi praesidentis rectoris, se castigent, et corda sua ad coelestia reducant.
