Chapter 43LiVM.4.43

LIIII. De inconstantiae poenis purgatoriis.

LIIII. De inconstantiae poenis purgatoriis.

And I saw a great fire in which many and various worms, having different forms, were present, where the souls of those were punished who, while they were in their bodies, had drawn inconstancy upon themselves through their words and deeds. For because of the inconstancy by which they boldly deceived many, they burned in this fire; and because of the multiple deceitfulness they had with vanity within themselves, they were tormented by the aforementioned worms.

Et vidi ignem magnum in quo plurimi et diversi vermes, diversas formas habentes^ erant, in quo animae illorum puniebantur, qui dum in corporibus suis fuissent, in verbis et in operibus suis inconstantiam sibi attraxerant Nam propter inconstantiam, qua multos audacter deceperant, in igne isto ardebant; et propter multiplicem dolositatem, quam cum vanitate in se habuerant, a praefatis vermibus torquebantur.
