XXI. David ad eamdem rem.
XXI. David ad eamdem rem.
My God, my helper, and I will trust in Him. You are my protector and the source of my salvation, and you are my supporter. His sense is such. My God, through whom I was created and by whom I live, to whom I turn with longing, and from whom all good things come, I know that You are my God, and I feel that I must serve You, since I have understanding through You; in the good things of heaven, You are my helper, because I accomplish good works through You. Therefore, I will place my hope in Him, because I am clothed with His grace like a garment. And so my defender is God, because He protects me from evil, since my troubled conscience torments me and gives me counsel so that I do not commit evil deeds. But God himself is the horn of salvation for my soul, because through the Holy Spirit he teaches me the law in which I walk in his ways and from which I receive the food of life that is truly given to those who believe for eternal life; and when I receive him, God will make me holy and chosen through all these things, and he will welcome me into the highest blessedness and embrace me in his bosom.
