The winds, the air, and the greenery of the world, which are under the firmament of heaven, in which the same man is from his thighs to his knees, are like clothing for him; for the currents and breadth of the winds, the pleasant humidity of the air, and the sharp greenness of the trees and herbs, which are contained in the strength of the higher realms, also show forth God's glory through their creation and sustenance, as they all fully obey. For God is glorified through the mystery of creation, just as a man is clothed with garments and honored. Fire and light in the air are also part of the same garments for decoration, because fire, by its heat, nurtures various creatures, and light, by its sweetness, illuminates them, honoring God as if to adorn Him in His office, since He is known through them, and is called omnipotent through them, just as man, the lord and king, is called through the brightness of his clothing and the crown on his head; in the same way, God is glorified through the just works of the soul, because as the powers of creatures are, so too are the powers of the soul. For the beginning of the righteous' desires in the soul flies like the wind, and the taste of good things is like a breeze. The will plays in it like air, and the perfection of perfect works in it flourishes like the greenness of the world; and this is in the wisdom of the hidden secrets, as if under the firmament of heaven, because wisdom begins to work good in the soul of the just, and it perfects the same in it, and in these things God is like from the thighs to His knees, who, since all these things proceed from Him, are also sustained by Him to the completion of perfection. Therefore, from the thighs of procreation, when good works in a person are brought forth by God, to the knees of fortification, when they are strengthened by God, they serve as garments of glorification; for it is just that a person should give glory to God for their good deeds, not to themselves. But the fire of the holy ascension, by which the faithful soul is ignited, should not wither or fail in good works; and the light of truth, where a good reputation is seen and heard among people, is indeed the glory of God for adornment; because all these things are done for the glory and honor of God. For a holy soul, through good works done in the flesh, will give glory and honor to God, because it accomplishes this through His assistance, as the prophet testifies, saying:

Sed et ignis sanctae ascensionis, quo fidelis anima accenditur, ne in sanctis operibus arescat aut deficiat, et lux veritatis ubi bona fama in hominibus videtur et auditur, vestimentis scilicet gloria Dei pro ornatu sunt; quia haec omnia ad gloriara et ad honorem Dei fiunt.
