LXXIIII. David ad eamdem rem
LXXIIII. David ad eamdem rem
Those who slander me will be covered with shame, and they will be like a double confusion. For what they wanted to do, they could not accomplish. Let a spirit of perpetual contrition be upon those who, through their slander, destroy the heavenly gifts they receive, hardening themselves in shame, because their opinion has vanished; for what they wanted to do, they could not accomplish. Their brightness has turned into darkness, where what they thought could happen will be annihilated. Thus, they will have the workings of double confusion, since they have lost their blessedness, and have put on misfortune, and have been cast out from glory, and have received punishment. These spirits propose that everything should be established well and honorably, and that they provoke disputes among themselves, and that they inflict injuries on their superiors, and that they speak to them with harsh words, as Scripture says: "Who made you a ruler and judge over us?"✦ This is also to be understood in this way. 9S S.
