XXIIII. Le circumcisione et baptismo.
One part curves to the left side, and the other part curves to the right, because the old Testament was directed toward the defense of earthly matters, while the new Testament aspires to the protection of heavenly things; for the ancients adhered to the circumcision of the flesh, but the faithful serve the Spirit through the Son of God in baptism. But those who are justified by their observance of the law are not justified, while these others have attained the cleansing of their sins through faith in Christ, receiving the heavenly reward, just as the Apostle Paul says:
