XXV. Quod homo non justificatur ex operihus Legis.
XXV. Quod homo non justificatur ex operihus Legis.
Knowing that a person is not justified by the works of the Law, but only through faith in Jesus Christ, we also have believed in Christ Jesus so that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the Law. This is the nature of that sense. The grace of God finds the subjection of the people through the Holy Spirit, because the fall of Adam has mortified the souls of the just, and for this reason the finger of God wrote the Law through Moses. For the violated flesh could not free the violated body, because it was itself violated. Therefore, the Lord commanded Moses through the Law that people should sacrifice goats and bulls in obedience, just as they would discern through that mystery that they themselves would later sacrifice to God through the mortification of their own nature, just as they sacrificed their livestock. But when the spotless and pure man offered himself as a sacrifice to God through his blood and death, all people were cleansed in him. Therefore, in their understanding, people should realize that no one is justified by the works of the carnal Law when they observe it in a merely carnal way. For the blood and ashes of sheep cannot justify or free them, but the justice of the Son of God shows them the way of salvation. For through the faith of the Son of God, those who faithfully believe in Him have served Him. Therefore, let the faithful believe in Him faithfully, who is the way and the truth, namely, in faith as the way, in trust as the truth; so that they may be justified through faithful works, which are done out of love for the same Son of God, and not because of works that are proposed to them in bitterness against their will. For good works show the way to the heavenly homeland, even as Christ anoints the people through repentance, and saves them through himself. For He Himself is the world and the sacrificial offering that was given for those who believe in Him; because the old Law did not justify man completely, nor did it free him, but it showed the way, since it was like a voice before the Word, but the Word is the Son of God, who gave the new Law in truth. Rationality discerns all things. However, in the center of each wing, there is a rationality that operates under the power of divine protection, which according to God produces, arranges, and discerns all things given by God, because there is nothing that it does not subtly penetrate and examine.

XXVL Rationalitas discernit omnia.
