A fösvénység ellen
Prayer against Avarice
A prayer asking God to remove the desire for worldly riches and grant contentment, generosity, and stewardship for the poor.
God, who so generously give every good thing, who have often commanded almsgiving in your name: open my ears to the meaning of your commandments, not to stinginess; and grant that with the goods I have received from you I may steward well for your poor. Take from my heart the desire for this world's riches, which is the root of all evil. Grant that I may be content with what is mine and not desire what belongs to another; and that I may gladly and cheerfully share out the goods I have received as your gift to those who will receive me into the dwelling of eternal rest. Through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Amen.
