Christ's Example of Love for Enemies
Invoking Christ's own example of praying for his murderers and his command to love enemies, the prayer asks for the grace to forgive and endure patiently.
Most patient Jesus Christ, only Son of the living God, who gives heavenly light equally to the good and the wicked; who at the hour of your death devoutly pleaded with your holy Father for your murderers; who also commanded us to love our enemies and to pray for those who slander us, leaving vengeance to you alone: increase in us Christian love, spiritual gentleness, and peaceful endurance, so that we may forgive from a pure heart those who have wronged us, and bear every trial quietly and in peace.12
Petition for Enemies and Self
The prayer asks forgiveness for enemies, their conversion, protection from their malice, and concludes with a doxological close through Christ's death.
Lord, forgive the sin of my enemies, and repay with good the evil will they use to attack me.✦ Give them true love, so that they may recognize their sins, turn from wickedness, and receive grace from you. Guard me also, your poor sinful servant, from the evil intent of all my bodily and spiritual enemies, and turn to good whatever they attempt against me. Through your holy death. Amen.

Engemet is, szegény bűnös szolgádat, őrizz minden testi-lelki ellenségim gonosz szándékátúl, jóra fordítván ellenem való törekedéseket. A te szent halálod által. Amen.
