A Prayer for Children
A parent beseeches God to bless their children, protect them from evil, and preserve their baptismal innocence through Christ.
Eternal, almighty Lord God, who called the children to yourself with great love, and through little nursing infants willed that your praise be fulfilled: I ask you, for the shedding of your precious holy blood, keep and bless these gifts you have given me through holy marriage; and grant, for your holy name's sake, that they may grow in the fear of you, in true faith, and in every good virtue, so that through them your holy name may be praised and your holy Church built up. And since, after our first father's fall, man is inclined to evil from youth onward, and the folly that leads to evil has indeed been grafted into the child's heart: protect, Lord, the offspring of your servants from every evil company, from drunkenness, and from impurity, so that the fear of your holy name may preserve in them to the end the pure garment of innocence they received in baptism.✦✦ Through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns together with the Father and the Holy Spirit, forever and ever. Amen.

Amen.
