De fratre Egidio doclore magno ordinis sancti Augustini et morte ipsius.

The Life and Death of Brother Giles

Brother Giles, a great Augustinian doctor and later archbishop of Bourges, died in 1316 at Avillois during Pope John XXII's residency there and was buried among his brethren in Paris.

At the same time there flourished Master Giles, a great doctor of the Augustinian order, who was afterwards made archbishop of Bourges by Pope Boniface V. He died at Avillois while the Roman curia was residing there under Pope John XXII, in the year of our Lord 1316, on the kalends of January, and was buried at Paris among the brothers of his own order.
