The Triune Confession

We believe in almighty God, who created all things by his word, glorious and good. Everything he made is good. By his own good will, he chooses to be our Father. He will always watch over us and never separate us from himself. He protects us by his power, and no one can withstand his might. We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son and our Lord. He is eternal—this is certain—and equal in glory with the Father. Through the help of God’s Spirit alone, he took true human nature and was born of the pure Virgin Mary. For our sin he suffered pain and hardship; he overcame death for us and sits at the Father’s right hand. We believe in the Holy Spirit and one Christian Church—that is, the communion of saints, whom God’s Spirit continually strengthens. Here the sin that harms us is taken away. And on the last day we will all rise again. Then eternal life will come, and God will let us share in his joy. Amen.1
