O God, we praise you and confess you as our Lord. The whole world honors you as the eternal Father. All angels praise you, along with the heavens and all their powers. The cherubim and seraphim praise you, crying out without end: “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of the glory of your majesty.” The holy apostles praise and glorify you. Likewise, all the holy prophets praise you, and the holy martyrs praise you with their faithful witness. Throughout the whole world, the holy Church confesses you: the Father of boundless glory; your only-begotten Son, who shares your true divinity; and likewise the Comforter, the Holy Spirit. You, Christ, are the King of glory, the Father’s eternal Son. To redeem humanity, you took on human nature in a virgin’s womb. You overcame death and opened heaven to those who believed in you. You sit at God’s right hand in the Father’s glory, and you are expected to return as a stern judge. Therefore, we ask you to help your servants, whom you have redeemed by your precious blood, and grant them eternal glory among your saints. Save your people, O Lord, and bless those given to you as your inheritance. Govern them and raise them up forever. So we bless you all our days and praise your name from age to age. Keep us this day, O Lord, from acting against your will. Have mercy on us, O Lord; be merciful to us. Let your mercy rest upon us, Lord, as we put our trust in you. In you, Lord, we trust; never let us be put to shame.
