Chapter 22Revel.7.22

Reuelacio in Bethleem ad presepe Domini super eadem materia, qua supra.

The Mystery of the Nativity

The Virgin Mary reveals to the visionary the miraculous and joyful manner of Christ's birth in the stable.

Afterward, the Virgin Mary appeared to me again in that same place and said, "My daughter, it's been a long time since I promised you in Rome that I would show you here in Bethlehem the manner of my giving birth." And although I showed you something of this in Naples—specifically, how I was positioned when I gave birth to my Son—you should know most certainly that I stood just as you saw me now: on my knees, praying alone in the stable. I gave birth to him with such great exultation and joy of soul that I felt no burden when he came forth from my body, nor any pain at all. But I immediately wrapped him in clean cloths that I had prepared long before. When Joseph saw this, he was filled with great joy and happiness, marveling that I had given birth without any help.

Hidden Wonders and Human Blindness

The world's preoccupation with worldly affairs obscures the divine miracle, which remains true despite human skepticism.

But because a great multitude of people in Bethlehem were occupied with the census, they were so focused on that, that the wonders of God could not be made known among them. You should know for certain that, even though people try to argue from a human perspective that my Son was born in the ordinary way, it is nonetheless true and beyond any doubt that He was born just as I told you before and just as you have now seen.
