The Merit of Obedience
The Mother of God explains that eating in obedience to a superior can be more meritorious than fasting.
The Mother of God says: "If someone wants to fast and has a desire to eat, but their will resists that desire, and they are commanded by a superior whom they are bound to obey to eat out of obedience, and they eat against their own will for the sake of that obedience, that act of eating would be worthy of a greater reward than the fast itself."
The Holy Conception

In the same way, the union of my parents was ordained when I was conceived; and so it is true that I was conceived without original sin, and not in sin. Since my Son and I never sinned, there was no marriage more honorable than the one from which I came.1

Mater Dei loquitur: "Si alicui volenti ieiunare, qui desiderium haberet comedendi sed voluntas resisteret desiderio, preciperetur a superiori, cui obediendum esset, quod per obedienciam comederet, et ille propter obedienciam contra velle suum comederet, illa comestio maiori remuneracione digna esset quam ieiunium.
Per similem modum coniunccio parentum meorum fuit, quando ego concepta fui, et ideo veritas est, quod ego concepta fui sine peccato originali et non in peccato.
Quia sicut filius meus et ego numquam peccauimus, ita nullum coniugium fuit, quod honestius esset quam illud, de quo ego processi."
