Chapter 1Revel.6.1

The Beauty of the Beloved

The Mother of God calls the bride to fix her love solely upon the incomparable beauty of her Son.

The Mother of God spoke to the bride, saying, "I am the Queen of heaven." My Son loves you with all His heart; therefore, I advise you to love nothing but Him. He is so desirable that if you have Him, you won't be able to desire anything else; He is so beautiful that the beauty of the elements or of light is like a shadow in comparison to Him.

Comfort in the Sight of the Lord

Even those who did not recognize his divinity found profound consolation in the physical presence of the young Jesus.

As I raised my Son, He was endowed with such beauty that anyone who looked upon Him found comfort from whatever heartache they were carrying. That is why many Jews would say to one another, 'Let’s go see the son of Mary, so that we might be comforted.' And even though they didn't know he was the Son of God, they still received great comfort from the sight of him.

The Purity of the Creator

The physical body of Christ manifested a divine purity that commanded reverence from all of creation.

His body was so pure that no lice or other vermin ever touched it, because even the vermin showed reverence to their Creator. Nor was any tangle or filth ever found in his hair, nor did any grow there.

Read the original Latin

Mater Dei loquebatur ad sponsam dicens: "Ego sum regina celi. Filius meus diligit te toto corde; ideo consulo tibi, vt nichil diligas nisi ipsum.

Vnde cum ego enutrirem filium meum, tanta pulchritudine preditus erat, vt, quicumque eum inspiceret, consolabatur a dolore cordis, quem habebat.
