Revelationes (Heavenly Revelations)/Book 4 · Liber IV (partial)
Chapter 30Revel.4.30

The Apostle's Example

Paul's conduct before authorities demonstrates that using worldly status for the honor of God is not a sin.

Scripture records that Paul, that good apostle, described himself as a wise man before the prince who had imprisoned Peter, and he called Peter a truly poor man. Paul didn't sin in this, because his words were spoken for the honor of God.

Adornment and Detachment

Servants of God may use fine clothing to gain access to others, provided their hearts remain detached from worldly vanity.

It's the same way with those who want and desire to speak the words of God; if they cannot gain access to lords unless they are wearing proper clothing, they don't sin by putting it on. As long as they don't value gold, fine clothes, and precious stones in their will and heart more than their usual, worn-out garments—because everything that appears precious is just earth.
