Chapter 8Revel.1.8

The Unity of Mother and Son

The Queen of Heaven explains that honoring the Son is inseparable from honoring the Mother due to their profound bond of love.

"I am the Queen of Heaven." You're anxious about how you should praise me. Know for certain that any praise given to my Son is praise given to me. And whoever dishonors Him, dishonors me, because I loved Him so fervently, and He me, that we were as one heart. And He, in turn, honored me—though I was but an earthen vessel—so honorably that He exalted me above all the angels.

A Prayer of Praise

The Virgin Mary provides a specific, structured prayer that honors God for the mystery of the Incarnation, the purity of the Virgin, and the glory of her Assumption.

This is how you should praise me: 'Blessed are you, God, creator of all, who deigned to descend into the womb of the Virgin Mary.' Blessed are you, God, who chose to be with the Virgin Mary without burden, and deigned to take from her immaculate flesh without sin. Blessed are you, God, who came to the Virgin with the joy of her soul and all her members, and who, with the joy of all her members, came forth from her without sin. Blessed are you, God, who gladdened Mary the Virgin, your mother, with frequent consolations after your ascension, and visited her by consoling her yourself. Blessed are you, God, who assumed the body and soul of Mary the Virgin, your mother, into heaven, and honorably placed her above all the angels, near your divinity. Have mercy on me because of her prayers!

Read the original Latin

"Ego sum regina celi. Et ipse me, que eram vas terrenum, sic honorifice honorauit, ut supra omnes angelos me exaltaret.

Sic ergo laudare debes me: 'Benedictus sis tu, Deus, creator omnium, qui in uterum Marie virginis descendere dignatus es.
