Verba creatoris ad sponsam de magnificencia suarum potencie, sapiencie et virtutis, et qualiter contra eum magis peccant, qui nunc dicuntur sapientes.

The Divine Attributes

God reveals His supreme power, wisdom, and virtue as the source of all existence.

I am the Creator of heaven and earth. I have three things with me. I am most powerful, I am most wise, and I am also most virtuous. I am so powerful that the angels in heaven honor me, while the demons in hell don't dare to look at me. All the elements stand at my command. I am also so wise that no one can fathom my wisdom; I am so knowing that I know everything that has already happened and everything that is yet to come. I am also so rational that not even the smallest thing—whether it's a worm or any other creature, no matter how deformed it may be—was made without a purpose. I am also so virtuous that every good flows from me as from a good fountain, and all sweetness proceeds from me as from a good vine.

The Vanity of the Powerful

The powerful sin by claiming credit for their own strength, forgetting their fragility before God.

Therefore, no one can be powerful, wise, or virtuous without me. And so, the powerful of this world sin greatly against me; I gave them strength and power so they would honor me, but they take the honor for themselves, as if they had it from their own selves. These poor souls don't consider their own weakness. If I were to give them even the slightest infirmity, they would immediately collapse, and everything would become worthless to them. But how, then, would they stand before my power and before eternal punishment?

The Blindness of the Wise

Those who consider themselves wise are rebuked for their ingratitude and for despising God's patience.

But those who are called wise today sin more deeply against me. I gave them sense, intellect, and wisdom so that they might love me, but they understand nothing except their own temporal gain. They have eyes in the back of their heads, seeing only what delights them, yet they are blind to giving thanks to me, who gave them everything; for whether they are good or evil, no one could feel or understand anything without me, even though I allow the wicked to bend their will toward whatever they desire. No one can be virtuous without me. So I can now apply the common proverb: 'Whoever is patient is despised by everyone.' In this way, because of my patience, I seem like a fool to everyone, and for that reason, I am despised by them all.

The Certainty of Judgment

A final warning is issued regarding the inevitable judgment that follows God's long-suffering patience.

But woe to them when I reveal my judgment after such patience! For they will be like mud before me, which falls into the depths and cannot stand, before it even reaches the bottom of hell."

"Ego sum creator celi et terre. Ego habeo tria mecum. Ego sum potentissimus, ego sapientissimus, ego eciam virtuosissimus. Ego namque sum ita potens, quod angeli in celo honorant me, demones in inferno non audent inspicere me. Omnia elementa stant ad nutum meum.

Sum eciam ita sapiens, quod nullus valet inuestigare sapienciam meam, ita sciens, quod omnia, que iam fuerunt, et ea, que futura sunt, ego scio. Sum quoque ita racionabilis, quod nec minimum quidem, siue vermis siue aliquod aliud animal, quantumlibet deforme sit, est sine causa factum.

Sum eciam ita virtuosus, quod a me tamquam a fonte bono omne bonum emanat et sicut a vite bona omnis dulcedo procedit. Ideo nullus potest esse sine me potens, sine me sapiens, sine me virtuosus. Et ideo nimis potentes seculi contra me peccant, quibus dedi fortitudinem et potenciam, ut me honorarent, sed ipsi sibi attribuunt honorem, quasi quod illum a se ipsis habeant.

Non considerant miseri imbecillitatem suam. Si enim darem eis minimam infirmitatem, statim deficerent et omnia vilescerent eis. Sed quomodo tunc subsisterent ad fortitudinem meam et ad penas eternas?

Sed magis peccant contra me, qui nunc dicuntur sapientes. Ego enim dedi eis sensum et intellectum et sapienciam, ut me diligerent, sed ipsi nichil nisi suam utilitatem temporalem intelligunt. Oculos habent in occipite, videntes sunt ad sua delectabilia, sed ceci sunt ad gracias agendas michi, qui dedi eis omnia, quia, siue boni siue mali, nullus posset sine me sentire et intelligere, licet permitto malis voluntatem suam flectere ad quod voluerint.

Nullus eciam potest esse virtuosus sine me. Ideo ego possum nunc hoc prouerbium dicere, quod a vulgo communiter dicitur: 'Qui paciens est, ab omnibus contempnitur.' Sic ego propter pacienciam meam nimis videor ab omnibus fatuus esse et ideo ab omnibus contempnor.

Sed ve eis, cum ego eis ostendero iudicium meum post talem pacienciam! Ipsi namque erunt quasi lutum ante me, quod cadit in yma, et non subsistit, antequam venerit in profundum inferni."
