Preces Quotidianae
Petitions for Mercy and Hope
From sanctification and forgiveness to eternal life, the soul pleads for mercy and for hope not to be put to shame.
mutual participation in sanctification, for confidence in the forgiveness of sins, of the Resurrection; for hope, and for eternal life.1 On Translation.2 But I have put my hope in your mercy forever and ever.3 How you have multiplied your mercy, God! If I have any hope, it is in your mercy: Don't put me to shame concerning this hope of mine.✦
Intercession for Peace and Provision
The prayer broadens to intercede for the whole people—peace, unity, and daily bread—and ends in God’s open-handed blessing.
We ask you still further: Remember, Lord, all for good; have mercy on all, Lord; be reconciled to us all. Bring peace to the multitude of your people. Scatter scandals. Settle wars. Suppress the uprisings of heresies. Grant us your peace and love, O God our Savior, and the hope of all the ends of the earth.4 Remember the crown of the year of your goodness.5 For the eyes of all hope in you, and you give them food in due season. You open your hand,✦ and you fill every living creature with your blessing.

Ego autem speravi in misericordia tua in seternum et in seculum sceeul. Quemadmodum multiplicasti misericordiam tuam, Deus? Si mihi spes est, in misericordia tua est:
Non me confundas ab hac spe mea.

Notes
- 1 ↩Source is fragmented and punctuated irregularly (`;`, `|`, `:eternam`, and a stray `i`). Rendered as the most plausible continuation of the preceding purpose-chain: genitive Resurrectionis plus parallel ad-phrases toward hope and eternal life; eternam taken as aeternam.
- 2 ↩Source is a bare genitive heading fragment (`'Translationis`), likely a liturgical label (translatio = translation/transfer of relics, or a feast heading). Leading apostrophe treated as noise; no full clause is present.
- 3 ↩Normalized reading treats corrupt forms seternum and seculum sceeul as aeternum and saeculum saeculi (in aeternum et in saeculum saeculi).
- 4 ↩Reading hzeresium as haeresium (heresies); terre as terrae (of the earth).
- 5 ↩Reading coronz as coronae and tuz as tuae.
