Blessed Are Those Who Walk in God's Light
The psalmist acclaims the blessedness of the people who know God's joyful shout and promises to declare God's deeds, inviting all who fear Him to listen.
Blessed is the people that knows the shout of joy; Lord, they will walk in the light of Your face. Lord, they will rejoice in Your name all day long, and in Your righteousness they will be exalted. My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord, and may all flesh bless His holy name, forever, and forever and ever, and for ages, and for ages of ages.1 — (Ps. 145.2 21.) Magnify the Lord with me, and exalt His name together. Come and listen to me, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what He has done for my soul.
Exalted Above the Heavens
A prayer for God's glory to fill the earth, a vow to praise Him in the assembly of saints, and a humble confession of unworthiness, concluding with the acknowledgment that God alone is worthy.
Be exalted above the heavens, God, and let Your glory be over all the earth. I will praise You, Lord, with all my heart, in the council of the saints and in the assembly.3 Open my mouth to bless Your name; free me to give myself to Your praises; in the sight of the angels I will sing to You.4 Ps. cxxxviii.5 1.] Receive the praises I long to sing—I, an unworthy sinner, truly unworthy—but if only they may be devout and pleasing to You. You are worthy, Lord God, to receive them. You are my God, and I will praise You; I will exalt You.6
A Lifetime of Song and Glory
The worshiper pledges to sing to the Lord all his life and concludes with the angelic doxology: 'Glory to God in the highest.'
. I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I am.7 Glory to God in the highest✦

Beatus populus qui scit jubilationem ; Domine, in lumine vultus Tui ambulabunt. Domine, in nomine Tuo exsultabunt tota die, et in justitia Tua exaltabuntur. ( Laudationem Domini loquetur os meum, et benedicat omnis caro sancto nomini Ejus, in seculum, et in seculum seculi, et in scecula, et in szecula seculorum. — ( Ps. exlv. 21.]
Aperi os meum ad benedicendum nomen Tuum, Fac me Tuis laudibus vacare, In conspectu Angelorum psallam Tibi. | Ps. exxxviii. 1.] Suscipe laudes, quas decantare desidero, Ego indignus peccator, certe indignus, Sed utinam devotas et Tibi gratas. Dignus es, Domine Deus, accipere, Deus meus es Tu, et confitebor Tibi, exaltabo Te.
. Cantabo Domino in vita mea, Psalam Deo meo, quamdiu sum.

- ↩Luke.2.14 — Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased.
Notes
- 1 ↩Source stacks several forever-formulas with corrupt orthography (scecula, szecula) for saecula; rendered as successive forever/ages formulas after the plain sense of in saeculum / in saecula saeculorum.
- 2 ↩Source 'exlv.' is read as OCR/print corruption of Roman 'cxlv.' (145), matching the Psalm 145:21 citation pattern used with the preceding verse.
- 3 ↩confitebor in psalm usage is praise/thanksgiving rather than confession of sin; rendered as 'praise'.
- 4 ↩vacare + dative: 'be free for / devote oneself to' Your praises; rendered as freedom for wholehearted praise.
- 5 ↩Source reads 'exxxviii.'; treated as cxxxviii (138), matching the neighboring 'exlv.' pattern as a likely c/e confusion in roman numerals.
- 6 ↩accipere has no explicit object in the Latin; context supplies the praises just offered ('them'). Cf. also the fuller liturgical/Apocalypse formula 'worthy to receive glory and honor'.
- 7 ↩Printed surface 'Psalam' is almost certainly corrupt for 'Psallam' (I will sing/psalm); sense taken as the standard psalm wording.
