Tractatus Prior, Pars Prior, Cap. 14. De inventione lesu in templo.
I bless you and give thanks to you, Lord Jesus Christ, master of humility and highest teacher of eternal truth, for the wonderful example of your humility and the light of hidden wisdom revealed in you to humanity, as you ascended to Jerusalem with your parents during the feast, offering to God the Father our vows of praise and holy prayers, and humbly sitting among the teachers at twelve years old, listening to them and asking questions, turning the eyes of all who looked upon you toward yourself. I praise and exalt you with a special devotion for your reverential obedience, which you showed to your parents as they sought you for a long time, and which you revealed when they found you. You, the ruler of heaven, humbly submitted to their authority and immediately renounced your own will. When they didn't understand the word spoken to them, you humbly descended with them from Jerusalem to Nazareth as the most obedient son of your excellent parents. O sweetest Jesus, most beloved child, mirror of all holiness and virtue, teach me to break the stubbornness of my own will, to willingly accept the counsel of the elders, to devoutly visit the temple of God, to attentively listen to your preaching, to honor the teachers of the Church, to gladly obey my superiors, and to serve you joyfully in perfect submission all the days of my life.

O dulcissime lesu, puer amantissime, omnis sanctitatis ac virtutis speculum, doce me propriae voluntatis frangerezo perversitatem, libenter acquiescere consilio seniorum, devote visitare Dei templum, attente audire praedicare sermonem tuum, doctores ecclesiae venerari, superioribus libenter oboedire et in perfecta subiectione omnibus diebus vitae meae tibi laetanter servire.
