A Plea for Divine Mercy
The petitioner seeks deliverance from sin and the assurance of a place in God's Kingdom.
Lord, don't deprive me of your heavenly blessings. Lord, deliver me from eternal torment. Lord, whether I have sinned in mind or thought, in word or deed, forgive me. Lord, deliver me from all ignorance and forgetfulness, from faintheartedness, and from stony insensibility. Lord, deliver me from every temptation. Lord, enlighten my heart, which evil desire has darkened. Lord, I have sinned as a human being; but you, in your divine generosity, have mercy on me, for you see the weakness of my soul. Lord, send me your grace to help me, so that I may glorify your holy name. Lord Jesus Christ, write me, your servant, in the Book of Life, and grant me a blessed end. Lord, my God, though I have done nothing good before you, grant me by your grace to make a good beginning. Lord, sprinkle the dew of your grace upon my heart. Lord of heaven and earth, remember me, your sinful servant—shameful and unclean—in your Kingdom.✦ Amen.
A Petition for Spiritual Transformation

Lord, receive me in repentance. Lord, don't forsake me. Lord, do not lead me into temptation. Lord, give me good thoughts. Lord, give me tears, a remembrance of death, and compunction. Lord, give me the resolve to confess my sins. Lord, grant me humility, chastity, and obedience. Lord, grant me patience, generosity of spirit, and gentleness. Lord, plant within me the root of all that is good: reverence for you in my heart. Lord, help me to love you with all my soul and mind, and to do your will in everything. Lord, protect me from certain people, from demons and passions, and from every other unworthy thing. Lord, you know what you're doing. Let your will be done in me, a sinner, just as you desire, for you are blessed forever. Amen.
