A Prayer for Divine Presence and Protection

Almighty Jesus Christ, the Father’s Word, perfect in yourself: because of your great mercy, never leave me, your servant, but always remain within me. Jesus, good Shepherd of your sheep, don't hand me over to the serpent’s rebellion or abandon me to Satan’s desire, for the seed of corruption is in him.1
Sanctification for the Night
A petition for the Holy Spirit to guard the sleeper and transform their mind, soul, and body through the light of the Gospel.
Therefore, Lord God whom we worship, holy King Jesus Christ, guard me as I sleep by the unwavering light of your Holy Spirit, through whom you sanctified your disciples. Lord, grant me also, your unworthy servant, your salvation upon my bed. Enlighten my mind with the light of understanding that comes from your holy Gospel; fill my soul with love for your Cross, my heart with the purity of your word, and my body with your passionless Passion; preserve my thoughts in your humility, and raise me at the proper time to praise you.2

For you are glorified above all, together with your Father who has no beginning and the Most Holy Spirit, forever. Amen.
