De filio viduae a Domino suscitato
The Widow's Son at Nain
Jesus, moved by compassion, raises a widow's dead son at Nain, restoring him to his mother and filling the crowd with awe.
Once, as Jesus was heading toward the town of Nain, he came upon a crowd carrying out a young man — the widow's son — dead, on the way to the tomb.✦ Moved with compassion, the merciful Lord Jesus touched the bier, and the bearers stopped.✦ He said, 'Young man, I tell you, get up.'✦ And immediately.✦ He who had been dead rose up, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.✦ Everyone was astonished and praised the Lord.✦
