XXXVIII. De variis in coelo mansionibus.

XXXVIII. De variis in coelo mansionibus.

The flesh, weighed down by sin, cannot grasp the secrets of heaven, except to the extent that it is strengthened by divine grace. No human being, weighed down by mortal flesh, has ever seen the ornaments and joys of the heavenly miracles perfectly, nor could he grasp them in the knowledge of his own understanding, except to the extent that God's will has shown them to certain saints and prophets through vision, who spoke of these things, as Isaiah mentions the adornment of the first angel, and as John demonstrates in his Apocalypse the adornment of heavenly Jerusalem.
