XXXIII. De a7iimarum gloria in paradiso
But the glory of paradise, from which the first man was cast out, is surrounded by such brightness that, as you see, it can only be perceived as if through a mirror; it is adorned with an incorruptible beauty and a delightful fragrance of perfumes, filled with many pleasures, in which the souls of those purged from all kinds of their sins rejoice. The souls that are in it are clothed with the garment of immortality and beauty, which Adam had lost, receiving a greater glory; they are also adorned with delightful ornaments according to how they, while living in this world, touched God through repentance for their sins, and according to how they fulfilled God's commandments with good works.

Sed gloria paradisi, de qua primus homo ejectus est, tanta claritate, ut vides, circumdata est, quod nec ipsam, nec ea quae in ipsa sunt, nisi velut per speculum intueri valet, imputribili floriditate amoenitatis ornata, et suavissimo odore aromatum perfusa, ac plurimis deliciis repleta, in quibus animae ab omnibus generibus peccatorum suorum purgatae gaudent.
Animae enim quae in ipsa sunt, veste immortalitatis et decoris, quam Adam perdiderat, majore gloria recepta, induuntur; quae etiam secundum quod per poenitentiam peccatorum in saeculo viventes, Deum tetigerant, et quae etiam secundum quod praecepta Dei cum bonis operibus compleverant, delectabilibus ornamentis decorantur, quemadmodum et corpora hominum pretiosis rebus ornantur.
