LXXV. De bono et pravo opere

LXXV. De bono et pravo opere

The works that a person does should be directed to God, because the work of a person that aims at God will shine in the heavens; but what is turned toward the Devil will be revealed in punishment. God created man and subjected the other creatures to him so that he could work through them, in such a way that his good works would not be destroyed, but the evil ones would be abolished through the exchange of manifest repentance. For when a person sells the property of their own will, they buy a precious pearl, and they gather it into the depths of their heart; later, their repentance will shine before God, in the confusion of serpentine deception, forever.
