Chapter 7LiVM.4.7

VIIII. \erba Curae terrenorum.

VIIII. \erba Curae terrenorum.

And he said, "What worry is better than the worry of this world?" Where the grass and fruit-bearing plants grow, and where the harvest and other necessities of life increase, by which people are refreshed and sustained. For if I were to pour out tears from my eyes, or if I were to strike my chest in sighs, or if I were to bend my knees, I still wouldn't have food or clothing, but would be left empty. But even if I were to seek clarity in heaven, or from the sun, the moon, and the stars, it wouldn't benefit me at all. Therefore, whatever I can acquire through thinking, speaking, and acting, I will draw to myself, so that I may live on this earth.
