And again, I heard a voice speaking to me from the living light, saying: "What you see is true, and as you see it, so it is." Therefore, if people, along with the spirits that lead them to desire, strive to overcome that desire and escape the penalties of the same vice, they should discipline themselves with fasting and beatings, and redeem those same sins through almsgiving.
