XLVn. De torporis poenis purgaloriis.
XLVn. De torporis poenis purgaloriis.
I saw a dark air mixed with fire, in which wicked spirits drove the souls of those who had loved torpor in their bodies, pushing them back and forth with fiery clubs. For because of the torpor they had within themselves in that dark air, they were there; and because of the foolishness with which they had counted God as nothing, they felt His fire; and because of the laziness with which they had not labored in good works, they endured infestations from malignant spirits. And I saw and understood these things.

Et tenebrosum aerem igne permixtum vidi, in quo maligni spiritus animas illorum qui in corporibus suis torporem dilexerant, hac et illac igneis fustibus propulsas, discurrere faciebant.
Nam propter torporem, quem in se habuerant in tenebroso aere isto erant; et propter stuititiam, qua Deum pro nihiio computaverant, ignem ejus sentiebant; et propter pigritiam, qua justis operibus non laboraverant, infestationes malignorum spirituum sustinebant.
Et vidi et intellexi haec.
