V. Verba Oblii\onis.
And the same image had placed its previous feet above the mentioned cloud, and it said: 'Since God does not know me, and since I do not know him, why should I withdraw from my own will, because neither does God want me, nor do I feel him?' So, whatever benefits me in any situation, and whatever I want, I will seek everywhere, because what I know, and what I understand, and what I taste, I will do. Many people call out to me about a life that is foreign to me, which I neither know nor hear, and which no one shows me. Many also tell me: Do this and that, so that they may show me God, and the life and the reward that I am about to receive, so I can know what I can do. But many tyrants come to me, proposing great commands that are more false than true, and they themselves do not follow what they propose. What I must do is permissible, as long as it is commanded to me. Many gods, indeed, are teachers to us. If God exists, it's certain that He doesn't know me.

Plurimos autera Deos, scilicet magistros noio.
