Prooemium visionis (Pars 4)
Prooemium visionis (Pars 4)
About a man looking toward the south and the west. He also turned toward the south, so that he could see both the south and the west. And the earth in which that man was from his knees to his shins had moisture and greenery, and it contained a seed within itself; and it was like a flowering and a beauty of virtue of that same man, as if his own virtue were adorned through it, because it is fertile in various kinds, namely, since all things formed in earthly creatures are produced from the earth. The very matter of God's work is found in humanity, which is the matter of the humanity of the Son of God. And behold, in that aforementioned cloud, which contained various kinds of vices, as has been stated, I now also saw eight vices in its images in this way. For the first image had a head like a fawn of the deer, and a tail like a bear, but the rest of its body resembled a pig.
