LXX. De poenis pnrgatoriis eorum qui humanam naturam in contraria

LXX. De poenis pnrgatoriis eorum qui humanam naturam in contraria

They were destroyed by fornication. But I saw a deep and muddy swamp, filled with the worst kind of filth, where the same mud was being traversed by the souls of those who, while they were in the world, had corrupted human nature and themselves, as well as in their desires and in their actions, and had turned away from fornication. And the evil spirits poured burning water over them, and they forced them to hide in the same mud with fiery forks. For they had so abandoned human nature, both in themselves and in others through fornication, that they were plowing that mud; and because they had done this with the fervor of the worst lust, the evil spirits poured fiery water over them; and because they had also cast aside human shame in this vice, they were pushed back into that very mud by the same fiery spirits with hooks.

Read the original Latin

fornicatione everterunt.
