LXVIII. De adulterii 2^oenis purgatoriis.

But in this fire, there was another fire, to which the spirits of those who committed adultery were subjected; they were punished in this way, and they were drawn out again, just as a rod is bent this way and that. Because while they were in this world, they had adulterous bodies, and in the aforementioned fire, they were subjected to another fire; and because they had joined themselves to foreign men, they were twisted in various ways.

Sed et in igne isto alius ignis erat, cui raaligni spiritus animas eorum qui adulteria perpetraverant, ita imponebant, et iterum extrahebant, velut virga hac et illac inflectitur quae sepi imponitur.
