Lvm. De inobedientiae poenitentia

Lvm. De inobedientiae poenitentia

Therefore, those who obey the spirit of disobedience, if they try to cast it off from themselves and desire to be free from the punishments of that same disobedience, should kneel before their superiors and humbly ask for forgiveness, and, by their command, take up a solitary life for a time, afflicting themselves with fasting and scourging, and even putting on rough clothing inside, so that they may be received with equity and justice among the children of the Father.
