XXVI. De fruciibus terrae a peccato corruptis

XXVI. De fruciibus terrae a peccato corruptis

The winds are also hindered by the terrible stench of wickedness, so that they do not blow rightly with pure air, but instead, they rage with thunder during storms, and the air spews forth filth because of the many impurities of humanity, where it releases an unjust and unworthy humidity that dries up the greenery and fruits that people should nourish themselves with; these are sometimes cloudy, sometimes snowy, from which often harmful and useless worms are born, which damage and consume the fruits of the earth, preventing them from being of any benefit to humanity, because they close their hearts and mouths to justice and other virtues, and do not open them to the truth.
