LII. De Leont, forma zell Lei.
What you see, that a lion stands before the man I mentioned, who turns away from these worthless things, is a sign that in the majesty of the Divinity, the humanity of the Savior is present; He, being both God and man, fiercely resists the diabolical vices with the strength of His zeal; so that with a great roar, sending forth the wind, He cries out that these should be cast into the fire of the Holy Spirit, and thus brought to an end, because they contend against Him. For he raised a loud cry with the breath of the Holy Spirit, where he filled his disciples with the Holy Spirit, when he commanded them to preach and testify to the new sanctification, so that in this way they might take away the lost souls from the ancient Serpent and crush the worst suggestions, with which he always tries to rebel against truth and the salvation of humanity. Even though the Devil tries to resist Christ, the Son of God, with his wicked schemes against the chosen ones, Christ, like a mighty lion, brings all his efforts and the vices that cling to him to nothing and utterly crushes them.
