XXXVI. Animae sanctorum desiderant corpora sua sibi restitui.

XXXVI. Animae sanctorum desiderant corpora sua sibi restitui.

Therefore, in the voice of their longings, they say how long they must wait for that time when their works, which shine in open manifestation before the living God, will have their bodies restored to them, so that, freed from every difficulty, as Moses covered his face, they may see God. For the works of the saints, which they perform through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, shine before God like the heavens, because they are made with God and in God; thus, God grants those same souls rest and refreshment because of those works. But they do not yet receive complete joy until the fullness of the people enters on the last day. And then God will unite the bodies and souls of the saints with the holy works of the saints, and thus heaven will lead them to the face of God, where they will see Him fully. But because the body, together with the soul, has done good works, the soul, being separated from the body, cannot possess that fullness, so that it may see the face of God fully without the body. Therefore, when the body and soul are reunited, God reveals His face so that the blessed may see Him in this way, since those who are joined together are the ones who worked together. This strong and loud cry belongs to the saints, for they hardly wait until they receive their bodies, and with such longing they seek the seals of their bodies, as a hungry child asks his father for bread; yet the father kindly responds, saying he will quickly give him the bread. Before the saints receive their bodies, the world will be transformed. Therefore, they receive the answer that before their bodies are restored, the world will be shaken, and it will be changed into something else, and the ancient enemy will be crushed in all his powers, and the true God, who is both God and man, will gather all his members in the chosen ones, and thus they will receive the integrity of their bodies.

XXXVIL Antequam sancti corpora sua recipiant, mundus ccmmovtbiiur.
