VI. Responsum verecundiae.

And again, from the aforementioned turbulent cloud, I heard a voice responding to that image: 'You are idolatry, doing all things according to your own will, and you will be a lifeless sound, made from the hand of the hour.' Your will is also both human and beastly, because you have human ways at one moment and beastly ways at another. For all your desires are according to creatures, not living, but dead, because whatever you long for, that you hold onto, and in the journeys of the changing circumstances of vanity, you are caught. But I am ashamed of these heavens, and I cover myself with the wings of the Cherubim, and I learn the mysteries of God in the heavenly realms and in the decrees of God, and in the heavenly places I find my vital sustenance. I see through the eyes of innocence, and I behold all around me the honest intentions in the will of God, while you flee in ignorance from the blindness.
