LIII. Aduersus Christum et Ecclesiam Diabolus non praevalehit.
But great darkness comes with much density and horror from the West, and it expands itself with great dilation toward the same bright cloud, because all the diabolical iniquities and wickednesses are gathered together as one, and sent forth by the powers of hell, opposing the works of Christ and the Church with great and widespread infidelity. But they cannot proceed beyond that bright cloud, because, although the faithful are attacked by many adversities, their works in Christ will not be able to be extinguished or overturned.

Sed maximae tenebrae multa densitate et horrore ab Occidente veniunt, et se magna dilatatione ad eamdem lucidam nubem expandunt, quia omnes diabolicae iniquitates et malitiae in unum conglobatae, et ab infemalibus potestatibus missae, magna et lata infidelitate operibus Christi et Ecclesiae se opponunt.
Sed tamen prae lucida nube illa ultra procedere non possunt, quoniam, quamvis fideles multis advei^sitatibus impugnent, tamen opera eorum in Christo iucentia oflfuscare nec evertere praevalebunt.
