XLIIII. Joannes in Apccalypsi de eodem
Lord God Almighty, your judgments are true and just. For whose sense is such? O Lord, you are called by fear 'Lord,' by love 'God,' and by the comprehension of all 'Almighty.' Therefore, "your judgments are true and just," because your true fear destroys all fears, and your true love binds all loves, and your true omnipotence overcomes all powers. For when a person sets the law for themselves as if they were God, then you show them through your just judgments that nothing can stand against you. When someone prioritizes their own love over your rightful love, they trample that love underfoot with bitterness and sorrow, and they'll never find consolation except through you. But when a person has fallen into the violation of your commandments, and also worships idols in your name, then he has fought justly against your enemy, who from the very beginning persuaded man to consider you as nothing. And then you send lightning and thunder upon the earth, and you command the flood to pour forth from the waters, and you order barrenness to exist in the land, and you also bring diseases and conflicts upon people, so that they may know that these things can happen through no one but you, and that your judgments are true and just.

Unde « vera et justa judicia tua sunt,» quoniam verus timor tuus omnes timores destruit, et verus amor tuus omnes amores alligat, ac vera omnipotentia tua omnes potestates deprimit.
Nam cum homo in propositione sua sibimet legem ita ponit, velut ipse sibimet Deus sit, tum ei te per justa judicia tua ostendis, ut sciat quia contra te nihil possit.
Gum etiam amorem camis suae justo amori tuo praeponit, tunc amorem illum in ipso cum amaritudine dolorum sic conculcat, quod numquam nisi per te consolabitur.
