XII. Responsum patientiae.
And again, I heard a voice responding from that troubled cloud: 'I am in the heights, and I touched the earth, and from the earth I poured out a balm.' But you are deceitful, and you drink blood, and you are always an eagle. But I am the sweet air of all greenery, producing flowers and fruits of every virtue, and firmly establishing them in the minds of people: so that whatever I begin, I accomplish, and whatever I persevere in, and whatever I do not trample upon, I hold all things in peace, and no one condemns me. But when you raise your tower, I will destroy it with a single word, and I will scatter all its spoils. And so you will perish, but I will remain forever.

Et iterum de praefata turbida nube vocem huic imagini respondentem audivi: c Ego in altissimis sonui, et terram tetigi, ac de terra ut balsamum sudavi.
Tu vero fraudulenta es, et sanguinem bibis, ac semper aquila es.
Ego autem omnis viriditatis suavis aer sum, flores et poma omnium virtutimi producens, et ea in mentibus hominum firmiter aedificans: ita quod omne quod incipio, per* ■n ficio, et quod in eo persevero, et quod neminem conculco, sed omnia in quiete habeo, et nemo condemnat me.
Sed cum tu turrira erigis, in uno verbo illam • destruo, ac omnia spolia ejus dissipo.
Et sic peribis, ego autem in aeternum permanebo.»
