Honoring Those in Authority
The fifth commandment calls us to show love, obedience, and patience toward our parents and all those whom God has placed in authority over us.
What does God want in the fifth commandment? I should honor, love, and be faithful to my father and mother, and to all those who are placed over me; I should accept all good teaching and discipline with due obedience, and I should also have patience with their weaknesses and faults, because God wants to govern us through their hands.
