The Power of the Resurrection
Christ's resurrection provides believers with righteousness, new life, and the assurance of their own future resurrection.
What good does Christ's resurrection do for us? First: Christ has overcome death through his resurrection to give us a share in the righteousness he earned for us through his death. Second, through his power, we are now awakened to a new life. Third, Christ's resurrection is a reliable pledge of our own blessed resurrection.
The Ascension and Presence of Christ
Christ ascended to the Father to intercede for us, yet remains present with us through his divinity and spirit.
How do you understand that it says, 'ascended into heaven'? Jesus Christ was raised before the eyes of his disciples from the earth to the Father in heaven and is there for us until he comes to judge the living and the dead. Isn't Christ with us until the end of the world, just as he promised? Christ is both true man and true God. According to his human nature, he is no longer on earth, but according to his divinity, majesty, grace, and spirit, he never leaves us.
The Mystery of the Two Natures
The divinity of Christ remains omnipresent even while united to his human nature, ensuring he is both fully God and fully man.
But doesn't this mean the divinity and humanity in Christ are separated, if he isn't present everywhere according to his human nature, just as he is according to his divinity? No, because the divinity is incomprehensible and present everywhere, it follows that it can be outside of the human nature he assumed and yet also within it, while remaining united in one person. By the term 'incomprehensible', the catechism does not mean that one cannot understand God, but that he cannot be enclosed by any space. The statement of the catechism can also be formulated this way: Because God, in his essence, is not enclosed by any space or body, but is present everywhere, it follows that Christ, according to his divinity, is simultaneously in his human nature and yet also outside of it, and therefore in his person is both a true and just man and true God.

Was nützt uns die Auferstehung Christi? Erstens: Christus hat durch seine Auferstehung den Tod überwunden, um uns an der Gerechtigkeit Anteil zu geben, die er uns durch seinen Tod erworben hat. Zweitens: Durch seine Kraft werden auch wir schon jetzt erweckt zu einem neuen Leben. Drittens: Die Auferstehung Christi ist uns ein verlässliches Pfand unserer seligen Auferstehung.
Wie verstehst du, dass es heißt»aufgefahren in den Himmel«? Jesus Christus wurde vor den Augen seiner Jünger von der Erde zum Vater in den Himmel erhöht und ist dort uns zugut, bis er kommen wird, zu richten die Lebenden und die Toten.
Ist denn Christus nicht bei uns bis ans Ende der Welt, wie er uns verheißen hat? Christus ist wahrer Mensch und wahrer Gott. Nach seiner menschlichen Natur ist er jetzt nicht mehr auf der Erde, aber nach seiner Gottheit, Majestät, Gnade und Geist weicht er niemals von uns.
Werden aber auf diese Weise nicht Gottheit und Menschheit in Christus voneinander getrennt, wenn er nach seiner menschlichen Natur nicht überall ist, wo er nach seiner Gottheit ist? Nein, weil die Gottheit unbegreiflich und überall gegenwärtig ist, folgt daraus, dass sie wohl außerhalb ihrer angenommenen menschlichen Natur und dennoch auch in derselben ist und in einer Person mit ihr vereinigt bleibt. Mit dem Wort»unbegreiflich« will der Katechismus nicht sagen, dass man Gott nicht verstehen könne, sondern dass er von keinem Raum umschlossen werden kann. Die Aussage des Katechismus kann auch so formuliert werden: Weil Gott nach seinem Wesen von keinem Raum oder Körper umgrenzt wird, sondern überall gegenwärtig ist, so ergibt sich, dass auch Christus nach seiner Gottheit zugleich in seiner menschlichen Natur und dennoch auch außerhalb ihrer ist und deshalb in seiner Person zugleich ein wahrer und gerechter Mensch und wahrer Gott ist.
