Chapter 95ChrP.5.95

De destructione preurbii.

The Surprise Attack on Pulhenica

The brothers of Raganita launch an unexpected dawn assault on the suburb, unaware of the reinforced garrison, and begin its destruction.

During that time, the brothers from Raganita, with eighty men, entered the suburb and waged war against the garrison soldiers from Pulhenica, to whom two hundred men—guests, it seems—had come the day before, and the brothers didn't know about it. Entering at daybreak, while the soldiers were still resting in their street, the brothers rushed upon them unexpectedly and killed the men, women, and children who couldn't escape, then burned the suburb.

The Complete Burning of Oukaym

The brothers return to burn the suburb of Oukaym completely, destroying or killing nearly all who remained.

About the burning of the suburb of the castle Oukaym. Not long after, the same brothers from Raganita, along with their subjects, entered the suburb of the castle Oukaym while the garrison soldiers were sleeping and burned it completely. Except for the men who had been in the castle and the few who escaped, all the others—together with their wives, children, livestock, and cattle—were destroyed either by fire or by the sword.
