In 1320 at Christburg in Prussia, a carpenter named Andreas witnessed drops of blood miraculously falling from bread he had dipped in beer, astonishing his companions who found no wound on his body.
Christburg. In the year of our Lord 1320, Andreas, a carpenter in the castle of Christburg in the land of Prussia, was at dinner when drops of blood dripped from bread he had dipped in beer. His fellow diners, believing the blood was flowing from some wound, looked him over carefully — examining his mouth, his face, and his hands — but found no trace of any injury. At this miracle many were filled with wonder.✦
